Wow it's been so long since I've last been on here!
So much has happened biggest thing I had a forth baby boy Ewan who's now 9months old n a lil star best baby I've had so content n happy. Bad pregnancy n took a long time to recover as big op then 4months later had another op very large still recovering now.
The good thing to come from such a bad pregnancy full of bed rest is that I learnt how to crochet and I love it :D
I shall dig out some photos of makes n put up in the next few days

Makes

1st bandana dribble bib made from softest white fleece & old shirt

Taggie blankie

Cushion with all boys hand prints on

Made this cushion for the MIL who is Scottish. This was my first time making ruffles which was lot harder than I had thought, broke 2 sewing machine needles ops! the hands prints I drew round the boys hands used the iron on sticky interfacing to give the cotton a bit of thickness and to hold it in place whilst I sew'ed it on. I searched the internet to learn how to do satin stitch who was to know it's just a close Zig zag stitch! N away I went. Them hands took ages from tracing, cutting, interfacing, ironing, sewing.....phew. This was one of three cushions I made along this lines, I made one for my Uncle light blue with dark blue hands n piping yep u guessed it first time piping n I made it myself, piping you'd think would be easy although it probally is if u know what ur doing! lol I suppose I should mention at this point I'm self teaching! And I made my Mum a purple and Liliac cushion with the hands on front with ruffles, no broken needles this time but corners still not quite right, but I like to think that adds to the whole homemade look! hee hee, and on the back I had made liliac and purple stripes with feece strip in the middle, was very pleased at how that turned out :0)

Luke's 1st birthday cake which I made :0)

This may look like a simple bunting banner, but I made it with old shirts the picture doesn't quite do it justice I made all of them with shirting cut out all the letters/numbers (I also made a 2, 3, 4 & a cupcake for center piece so can be reused) pinned them onto triangles n satin stitched each one then made each triangle up and turned in right way.

Finally got my Toad in the hole right!! lol

Matty proudly showing off his Hotwheel car holder I made using strips of demin from old jeans n thick black fabric for backing

I frayed all the edges before sewing to give it a funky finish,
I made all the pockets by making a lil pleat some bigger to accomodate different size vechicles

Kieran filling it up think theres somewhere near to 110 pockets

Floor cushions made with yep you guessed it upcycled jeans :0)

Matty lazing

Then I had to make lil Luke one too

I used demin round the sides n bottom and cut some of the animals from top fabric and apliqued around the side.

Big ears, Dumbo or Mickey who knows??? Kieran goofing around

Scrap challenge

Pincushion was my first make with samples

This is an owl taggie with a crinkly belly

Lil hearts I made with left over scraps n sample pieces I love both the red n blue stripes

They are now found hung on each side of our bed

                          And a sock bunny!

Long time!

It's been a long time

I have been very busy Learning, making, finding shops, building a fabric stash
& creating messes galour! lol

This has been an extremly busy year with some fantastic highs, I married my Scotty on a beautiful day with all my close family & a couple friends, and lows very sadly my Mum passed away less than a month before, such a shock to us all had less than 3wks from diagnosis to her passing. Mum had brought me a brand new all singing all dancing sewing machine as my half of my wedding gift. I have been throughly enjoying playing n learning so much, thank god for You tube and all the tutorials on the many crafty sites Ive found.

Weve pretty much settled into our new home now, albiet the odd wall we want to take down, have knocked out large cupboard in the boys room and made two beds one high sleeper and one bunkbed, both very large & very high, I hated sitting on bottom bunk with crooked neck and the countless times I hit my head!

Lil Luke's at a great age now loving him so much his love for all things new and trying to work out what they are and how they work, his happy smiles & laughs have really kept my smiling and has kept me going :0)
The two older boys Kieran and Matthew have both now started at their new schools and seem to be settling in extremly well, can't believe Kieran's old enough for secondary school or should I say that I'm old enough to have a son at secondary school!

Well that's a brief catch up on me n mine, I shall be putting on photos of my makes thus far in the next week or so.

Hello :0)

Hello
This is my 1st ever Blog :0)
Thought I'd join in within the creative community, recently Ive been getting more n more into making things. Have always been arty n creative.
I started a couple of months ago making Sock Monkeys which I have loved n will
continue to make.
I have started to make a stash of different materials since being given a link by a friend on Face Book I'm very interested in making a patchwork quilt, of which Ive found many amazing design patterns on here that I can not wait to make :0)
Also I'm partaking in a competition on the link my friend gave me we've all been collecting fabric sample n have to make something with these and any recycled scraps we have, time frame is a month I shall post my final piece/pieces on here too.
